Liza Strom

Liza Strom is an Executive Vice President and Principal for Strom Commercial Real Estate. Over the span of her 20-year career in CRE, Liza has specialized in representing institutional owners and investors in the region’s largest office submarkets including University Towne Centre, downtown, Del Mar Heights, Carlsbad, Sorrento Mesa, and Mission Valley. As the most recent member of the firm, she provides workplace strategy for new and existing clients, spearheads business development initiatives, and oversees the day-to-day operations of the firm.

Liza previously served as a Senior Leasing Director with the Irvine Company, the largest privately held owner and operator of commercial real estate in California. With the Irvine Company from 2007 through 2019 , her collective responsibilities consisted of lease-up of over 10 million square feet of commercial space in San Diego. Prior to joining the Irvine Company, Liza was Director of Leasing for Equity Office Properties—the nation’s largest real estate investment trust from 2002 to 2007 and a Vice President of agency leasing and business development for Jones Lang LaSalle Americas from 1998 to 2002.

As precedent to her career in commercial real estate, Liza served as a Captain in the United States Air Force during which she led program integration for the unmanned Delta II rocket program for NASA and the Titan IV rocket for the Air Force and Navy. During her service, she was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal as well as the Joint Meritorious Service Medal.

Liza holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from Duke University with a concentration in computer engineering and an MBA from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas. Outside of work, Liza is actively involved with the Duke Alumni Association as well as Teen Volunteers in Action – an organization dedicated to fostering volunteerism in adolescents from affluent communities. Liza is married to Hans Strom with whom she has four children and lives in Point Loma.
